Registered bed nights increased 160 percent

In February 2022, 20,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Lofoten (+160.3 %), of which 8,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 11,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 14 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 2,100 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 160 percent from last year's February.

6,500 nights (+159.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,400 nights (+1.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 12,300 registered bed nights (+15.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 15,400 (+1,816.6 %) for foreigners in Lofoten, in total 27,700 (+142.3 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.1 percent

Total of 1.8 million registered bed nights (+92.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.3 million nights (+56.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 466,000 nights (+432.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Lofoten out of total registered bed nights was 1.1 % (+0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 2.5 %.

9,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 220 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 44.5 percent were domestic, and 55.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lofoten on average 2.0 nights (-0.56) and foreigners 2.3 nights (-2.8).

Accommodation sales 5.9 million crowns

Registered accommodation sales in February were 5.9 million crowns (+2.4 million).

Registered January-February sales were 8.3 million crowns and they increased 2.9 million euro from the previous year.
