Lofoten: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered accommodation. All changes are relative to the same period a year ago.
Registered bed nights increased 28 percent
In August 2022, 102,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Lofoten (+28.1 %), of which 29,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 72,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 40 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 136 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 28 percent from last year's August.
38,800 nights (+32.8 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,800 nights (-37.9 %) by business visitors.
Between January and August, 175,000 registered bed nights (-32.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 274,000 (+414.1 %) for foreigners in Lofoten, in total 448,000 (+43.0 %) registered nights.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 25 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 28.8 percent were domestic, and 71.2 percent were from foreign countries.
During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lofoten on average 2.0 nights (+0.07) and foreigners 2.0 nights (+0.05).

Registered accommodation sales in August were 31.8 million crowns (+8.0 million).
Registered January-August sales were 146.6 million crowns and they increased 48.0 million crowns from the previous year.
