Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 72 percent

In June 2021, 65,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Lofoten (+71.7 %), of which 62,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 75 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 20 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 72 percent from last year's June.

22,000 nights (+78.7 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 4,700 nights (-6.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 106,000 registered bed nights (+46.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 5,100 (-84.5 %) for foreigners in Lofoten, in total 111,000 (+5.6 %) registered nights.

Market share 2.4 percent

Total of 2.8 million registered bed nights (+18.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.6 million nights (+18.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 143,000 nights (+11.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Lofoten out of total registered bed nights was 2.4 % (+0.7 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.4 % and foreign bed nights 1.9 %.

Length of stay increased 30 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 30 percent compared to earlier year. In Lofoten, length of stay in June was on average 2.4 nights and in Norway 2.2 nights (+6.9 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lofoten on average 2.4 nights (+15.9 %) and foreigners 2.9 nights (+92.3 %).

27,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 32 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.6 percent were domestic, and 3.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lofoten on average 2.4 nights (+0.52) and foreigners 2.9 nights (+1.2).

Registered January-June sales were 38.3 million crowns and they increased 616,000 crowns from the previous year.
