Lohja: Tourism in a nutshell
9,200 registered bed nights (February)
In February 2020, 9,200 bed nights were recorded in Lohja (-8.8 %), of which 8,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 830 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased seven percent and foreign bed nights decreased 26 percent. In total, bed nights decreased nine percent from last year's February.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (240 nights).
7,000 nights (+0.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,200 nights (-29.5 %) by business visitors.
Between January and February, 16,900 bed nights (-1.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,900 (-39.8 %) for foreigners in Lohja, in total 19,800 (-9.7 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Total of 1.8 million bed nights (+7.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.2 million nights (+10.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 613,000 nights (+1.9 %) by foreigners.
The market share of Lohja out of total bed nights was 0.5 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.7 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased three percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 93.4 percent were domestic, and 6.6 percent were from foreign countries.
During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lohja on average 1.8 nights (-0.2) and foreigners 2.5 nights (-0.87).

Total accommodation sales in February were 473,000 euro (+35,300). The share of Airbnb and HomeAway was 30.5 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 363,000 euro (-38,800) and Airbnb and HomeAway sales 111,000 euro (+74,100).
Total January-February sales were 1.0 million euro and they increased 69,100 euro from the previous year.
