2,700 bed nights in paid accommodation
Total of 2,700 bed nights (-8.0 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Lovisa Region in January 2020. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 65 % and non-registered 35 %.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded. Non-registered bed nights statistics include bed nights from AirBnB and Vrbo.

In January 2020, 1,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Lovisa Region (-8.9 %), of which 1,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 360 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased one percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 34 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased nine percent from last year's January.
720 nights (+34.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,000 nights (-25.5 %) by business visitors.

Length of stay was 3.7 nights in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 35 percent compared to earlier year. In Lovisa Region, length of stay in January was on average 3.7 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (-1.9 %).
During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lovisa Region on average 3.9 nights and foreigners 3.1 nights .
470 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 40 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 75.4 percent were domestic, and 24.6 percent were from foreign countries.
During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lovisa Region on average 3.9 nights (-2.5) and foreigners 3.1 nights (-1.4).

Total accommodation sales in January were 128,000 euro (-21,500). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 21.1 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 101,000 euro (-20,000) and non-registered sales 26,900 euro (-1,500).
