2,800 bed nights in paid accommodation
Total of 2,800 bed nights (+0.8 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Lovisa Region in December 2020. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 61 % and non-registered 39 %.
Between January and December, the number of paid bed nights was 59,500 (-0.6 %). Share of registered was 80 % and non-registered 20 %.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded. Non-registered bed nights statistics include bed nights from AirBnB and Vrbo.
Paid bed nights
1,700 registered bed nights
In December 2020, 1,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Lovisa Region (-11.5 %), of which 1,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 8.0 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased six percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 98 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 11 percent from last year's December.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United Kingdom (6.0 nights).
610 nights (-22.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,100 nights (-3.8 %) by business visitors.
Between January and December, 39,000 registered bed nights (+7.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 8,900 (-8.9 %) for foreigners in Lovisa Region, in total 47,900 (+4.2 %) registered nights.

Length of stay was 2.8 nights in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 22 percent compared to earlier year. In Lovisa Region, length of stay in December was on average 2.8 nights and in Finland 2.3 nights (+15.3 %).
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lovisa Region on average 2.8 nights (-10.1 %) and foreigners 2.0 nights (+159.4 %).
600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 13 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 99.3 percent were domestic, and 0.7 percent were from foreign countries.
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lovisa Region on average 2.8 nights (-1.4) and foreigners 2.0 nights (-0.17).

Accommodation sales 132,000 euro
Total accommodation sales in December were 132,000 euro (+46,700). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 22.2 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 103,000 euro (+46,000) and non-registered sales 29,200 euro (+670).
Total January-December sales were 3.2 million euro and they increased 56,600 euro from the previous year.
