3,000 bed nights in paid accommodation
Total of 3,000 bed nights (+2.4 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Lovisa Region in March 2022. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 67 % and non-registered 33 %.
Between January and March, the number of paid bed nights was 8,400 (+9.0 %). Share of registered was 64 % and non-registered 36 %.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded. Non-registered bed nights statistics include bed nights from AirBnB and Vrbo.
Paid bed nights
Registered bed nights increased 11 percent
In March 2022, 2,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Lovisa Region (+10.5 %), of which 1,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 64 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased nine percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 60 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 11 percent from last year's March.
1,200 nights (+58.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 770 nights (-25.5 %) by business visitors.
Between January and March, 5,300 registered bed nights (+6.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 80 (+11.1 %) for foreigners in Lovisa Region, in total 5,400 (+6.3 %) registered nights.

Length of stay increased 44 percent in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 44 percent compared to earlier year. In Lovisa Region, length of stay in March was on average 4.9 nights and in Finland 2.2 nights (-18.8 %).
During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lovisa Region on average 4.9 nights (+37.0 %) and foreigners 6.4 nights (+50.3 %).
410 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 23 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.5 percent were domestic, and 2.5 percent were from foreign countries.
During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lovisa Region on average 4.9 nights (+1.5) and foreigners 6.4 nights (+2.4).

A total of 34,000 Russians arrived in Finland over the eastern border crossings.
The share of southeastern border stations was 96.8 percent.

Accommodation sales 133,000 euro
Total accommodation sales in March were 133,000 euro (-610). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 15.4 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 112,000 euro (+3,200) and non-registered sales 20,400 euro (-3,800).
Total January-March sales were 377,000 euro and they decreased 6,200 euro from the previous year.
