Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased eight percent

In August 2021, 22,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Ludvika (+8.3 %), of which 20,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased less than one percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 149 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased eight percent from last year's August.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Netherlands (1,100 nights).

4,500 rooms (+27.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,100 rooms (-8.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 238,000 registered bed nights (+28.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 8,600 (-17.5 %) for foreigners in Ludvika, in total 247,000 (+26.2 %) registered nights.

Total of 8.4 million registered bed nights (+39.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 6.8 million nights (+25.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.6 million nights (+160.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Ludvika out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay was 3.2 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased less than one percent compared to earlier year. In Ludvika, length of stay in August was on average 3.2 nights and in Sweden 2.2 nights (-3.6 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ludvika on average 3.0 nights (+6.4 %) and foreigners 5.2 nights (+35.2 %).

7,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased nine percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.5 percent were domestic, and 7.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ludvika on average 3.0 nights (-0.18) and foreigners 5.2 nights (+2.1).
