21,000 registered bed nights

In June 2020, 21,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Luleå (-60.2 %), of which 19,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 45 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 90 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 60 percent from last year's June.

3,500 rooms (-59.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 5,500 rooms (-63.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 110,000 registered bed nights (-34.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 18,900 (-61.1 %) for foreigners in Luleå, in total 129,000 (-40.8 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.7 million registered bed nights (-48.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (-32.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 257,000 nights (-87.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Luleå out of total registered bed nights was 0.6 % (-0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.7 %.

10,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 61 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.5 percent were domestic, and 6.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Luleå on average 2.0 nights (+0.06) and foreigners 2.6 nights (+0.5).

6,600 air travelers

The airport received a total of 6,600 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals decreased 87 percent.

Of local passengers, 0.0 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 100.0 %.

In addition, there were 6,500 passengers departing the airport (-86.9 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 13,100 (-87.1 %).
