Registered bed nights increased 93 percent

In April 2021, 18,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Luleå (+92.5 %), of which 15,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 76 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 270 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 93 percent from last year's April.

4,100 rooms (+129.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 7,200 rooms (+97.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 61,300 registered bed nights (-20.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 11,900 (-26.0 %) for foreigners in Luleå, in total 73,300 (-21.4 %) registered nights.

Total of 2.6 million registered bed nights (+102.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.3 million nights (+103.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 218,000 nights (+90.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Luleå out of total registered bed nights was 0.7 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 1.4 %.

7,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 85 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 88.7 percent were domestic, and 11.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Luleå on average 2.2 nights (-0.01) and foreigners 3.4 nights (+0.76).
