In September 2018, 35,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Luleå (+6.6 %), of which 30,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased eight percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased one percent. In total, registered bed nights increased seven percent from last year's September.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (700 nights).
6,300 rooms (+7.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 16,200 rooms (+4.2 %) by business visitors.
Between January and September, 262,000 registered bed nights (+10.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 131,000 (+18.4 %) for foreigners in Luleå, in total 394,000 (+12.7 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased seven percent compared to earlier year. In Luleå, length of stay in September was on average 2.0 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (+0.8 %).
During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Luleå on average 1.9 nights (+2.6 %) and foreigners 2.4 nights (+3.0 %).
