Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased five percent

In March 2021, 19,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Luleå (+4.9 %), of which 16,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased five percent and registered foreign bed nights increased six percent. In total, registered bed nights increased five percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (480 nights).

4,000 rooms (+6.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 6,500 rooms (-35.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 46,200 registered bed nights (-32.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 8,900 (-41.8 %) for foreigners in Luleå, in total 55,100 (-34.2 %) registered nights.

Total of 2.9 million registered bed nights (+2.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+11.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 218,000 nights (-46.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Luleå out of total registered bed nights was 0.7 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 1.5 %.

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 69 percent compared to earlier year. In Luleå, length of stay in March was on average 2.8 nights and in Sweden 3.2 nights (+21.8 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Luleå on average 2.6 nights (+69.4 %) and foreigners 4.6 nights (+114.3 %).
