Registered bed nights increased 77 percent

In April 2022, 32,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Luleå (+77.3 %), of which 26,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 5,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 77 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 77 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 77 percent from last year's April.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (1,300 nights).

7,000 rooms (+80.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 11,900 rooms (+80.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 93,600 registered bed nights (+52.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 28,300 (+136.6 %) for foreigners in Luleå, in total 122,000 (+66.3 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.2 million registered bed nights (+64.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+46.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 791,000 nights (+260.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Luleå out of total registered bed nights was 0.8 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.8 % and foreign bed nights 0.7 %.

Length of stay was 1.9 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 28 percent compared to earlier year. In Luleå, length of stay in April was on average 1.9 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-23.8 %).

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Luleå on average 1.8 nights (-26.5 %) and foreigners 2.3 nights (-37.3 %).

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 147 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 86.4 percent were domestic, and 13.6 percent were from foreign countries.
