Registered bed nights increased 116 percent

In May 2022, 48,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Lund (+115.6 %), of which 37,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 11,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 93 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 250 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 116 percent from last year's May.

16,900 rooms (+144.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 17,500 rooms (+112.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 122,000 registered bed nights (+58.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 41,400 (+213.3 %) for foreigners in Lund, in total 164,000 (+81.2 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.9 percent

Total of 5.4 million registered bed nights (+64.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.4 million nights (+46.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 993,000 nights (+241.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Lund out of total registered bed nights was 0.9 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.8 % and foreign bed nights 1.2 %.

25,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 126 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 75.8 percent were domestic, and 24.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lund on average 1.9 nights (-0.02) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-0.58).
