Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased three percent

In November 2019, 40,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Lund (+3.2 %), of which 28,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 12,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased six percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased three percent. In total, registered bed nights increased three percent from last year's November.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (1,200 nights).

10,100 rooms (-2.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 20,200 rooms (+6.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and November, 316,000 registered bed nights (+1.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 164,000 (+2.2 %) for foreigners in Lund, in total 481,000 (+1.5 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.1 percent

Total of 3.6 million registered bed nights (+3.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.9 million nights (+5.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 731,000 nights (-6.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Lund out of total registered bed nights was 1.1 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.0 % and foreign bed nights 1.6 %.

Length of stay increased seven percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased seven percent compared to earlier year. In Lund, length of stay in November was on average 1.8 nights and in Sweden 1.8 nights (+0.6 %).

During November, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lund on average 1.7 nights (-0.2 %) and foreigners 2.0 nights (-0.6 %).

23,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased four percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 74.1 percent were domestic, and 25.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During November, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lund on average 1.7 nights (+0.07) and foreigners 2.0 nights (+0.29).
