Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased three percent

In February 2020, 31,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Lund (+3.5 %), of which 21,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 9,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased five percent and registered foreign bed nights increased one percent. In total, registered bed nights increased three percent from last year's February.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (1,400 nights).

7,700 rooms (-2.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 15,100 rooms (+0.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 44,500 registered bed nights (+0.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 21,100 (+4.7 %) for foreigners in Lund, in total 65,600 (+1.7 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.7 percent

Total of 4.4 million registered bed nights (+3.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.5 million nights (+5.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 935,000 nights (-2.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Lund out of total registered bed nights was 0.7 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 1.1 %.

Length of stay was 1.8 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased one percent compared to earlier year. In Lund, length of stay in February was on average 1.8 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (-3.1 %).

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lund on average 1.8 nights (-2.6 %) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+4.1 %).

17,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased five percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 71.6 percent were domestic, and 28.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lund on average 1.8 nights (+0.0) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-0.08).
