12,600 registered bed nights

In May 2020, 12,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Lund (-73.1 %), of which 10,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 66 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 88 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 73 percent from last year's May.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (310 nights).

3,800 rooms (-71.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 4,900 rooms (-75.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 78,300 registered bed nights (-36.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 30,100 (-50.9 %) for foreigners in Lund, in total 108,000 (-41.4 %) registered nights.

Total of 2.2 million registered bed nights (-58.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.1 million nights (-49.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 176,000 nights (-86.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Lund out of total registered bed nights was 0.6 % (-0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 1.1 %.

Length of stay increased 29 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 29 percent compared to earlier year. In Lund, length of stay in May was on average 2.3 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (+30.7 %).

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lund on average 2.3 nights (+9.3 %) and foreigners 2.3 nights (+8.3 %).

5,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 79 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 85.2 percent were domestic, and 14.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lund on average 2.3 nights (+0.57) and foreigners 2.3 nights (+0.37).
