Paid bed nights

17,300 registered bed nights

In March 2021, 17,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Lund (-12.7 %), of which 15,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased four percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 58 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 13 percent from last year's March.

5,700 rooms (+17.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 7,100 rooms (-30.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 41,100 registered bed nights (-30.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 7,200 (-72.8 %) for foreigners in Lund, in total 48,300 (-43.5 %) registered nights.

Total of 2.9 million registered bed nights (+2.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+11.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 218,000 nights (-46.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Lund out of total registered bed nights was 0.6 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 1.0 %.

Length of stay increased 17 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 17 percent compared to earlier year. In Lund, length of stay in March was on average 2.4 nights and in Sweden 3.2 nights (+21.8 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lund on average 2.2 nights (+16.9 %) and foreigners 4.6 nights (+103.2 %).

7,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 26 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.2 percent were domestic, and 6.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lund on average 2.2 nights (+0.26) and foreigners 4.6 nights (+2.3).
