Registered bed nights increased 80 percent
In May 2021, 22,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Lund (+79.9 %), of which 19,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 80 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 79 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 80 percent from last year's May.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (370 nights).
6,700 rooms (+75.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 8,300 rooms (+69.5 %) by business visitors.
Between January and May, 77,200 registered bed nights (-1.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 13,200 (-56.0 %) for foreigners in Lund, in total 90,400 (-16.6 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 11 percent compared to earlier year. In Lund, length of stay in May was on average 2.0 nights and in Sweden 2.3 nights (-5.3 %).
During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lund on average 2.0 nights (+6.4 %) and foreigners 2.5 nights (+57.5 %).

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 102 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 88.0 percent were domestic, and 12.0 percent were from foreign countries.
During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lund on average 2.0 nights (-0.31) and foreigners 2.5 nights (+0.21).
