Registered bed nights increased 112 percent

In May 2022, 10,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Lycksele (+111.5 %), of which 8,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 100 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 240 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 112 percent from last year's May.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (890 nights).

1,300 rooms (+28.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,300 rooms (+128.2 %) by business visitors.

Total of 5.4 million registered bed nights (+64.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.4 million nights (+46.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 993,000 nights (+241.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Lycksele out of total registered bed nights was 0.2 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

4,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 210 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 87.5 percent were domestic, and 12.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lycksele on average 2.1 nights (-0.9) and foreigners 2.3 nights (-2.1).
