Paid bed nights

13,000 registered bed nights

In May 2020, 13,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Lysekil (-34.7 %), of which 12,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 280 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 28 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 88 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 35 percent from last year's May.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (162 nights).

2,300 rooms (-41.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 460 rooms (-79.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 34,100 registered bed nights (-25.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,400 (-66.6 %) for foreigners in Lysekil, in total 36,500 (-31.3 %) registered nights.

Total of 2.2 million registered bed nights (-58.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.1 million nights (-49.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 176,000 nights (-86.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Lysekil out of total registered bed nights was 0.6 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay increased 31 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 31 percent compared to earlier year. In Lysekil, length of stay in May was on average 3.5 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (+30.7 %).

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lysekil on average 3.5 nights (+1.1 %) and foreigners 5.4 nights (-19.8 %).

3,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 50 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 98.6 percent were domestic, and 1.4 percent were from foreign countries.
