Registered bed nights increased 19 percent
In February 2020, 145,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Malmö (+19.1 %), of which 108,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 37,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 23 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 10 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 19 percent from last year's February.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (7,100 nights).
37,800 rooms (+14.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 56,100 rooms (+17.3 %) by business visitors.
Between January and February, 201,000 registered bed nights (+18.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 75,300 (+17.2 %) for foreigners in Malmö, in total 276,000 (+17.9 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.

Length of stay increased 12 percent in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 12 percent compared to earlier year. In Malmö, length of stay in February was on average 1.9 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (-3.1 %).
During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Malmö on average 1.9 nights (+7.7 %) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+5.0 %).
74,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased six percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 76.4 percent were domestic, and 23.6 percent were from foreign countries.
During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Malmö on average 1.9 nights (+0.21) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+0.21).

The airport received a total of 60,900 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals decreased 12 percent.
Of local passengers, 46.0 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 54.0 %.
In addition, there were 59,900 passengers departing the airport (-11.5 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 121,000 (-11.5 %).

Accommodation sales 86.2 million crowns
Registered accommodation sales in February were 86.2 million crowns (+12.6 million).
Registered January-February sales were 175.7 million crowns and they increased 32.3 million crowns from the previous year.
