Registered bed nights increased nine percent
In December 2019, 104,000 bed nights were recorded in Malung-Sälen (+9.3 %), of which 96,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 7,300 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 10 percent and foreign bed nights decreased four percent. In total, bed nights increased nine percent from last year's December.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (4,900 nights).
19,700 rooms (+41.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 3,500 rooms (-59.9 %) by business visitors.
Between January and December, 875,000 bed nights (+1.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 103,000 (+4.3 %) for foreigners in Malung-Sälen, in total 978,000 (+1.5 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels, campsites, and commercially arranged rentals in private cottages and apartments. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 14 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 93.5 percent were domestic, and 6.5 percent were from foreign countries.
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Malung-Sälen on average 4.0 nights (-0.14) and foreigners 4.4 nights (-0.47).
