9,500 registered bed nights

In May 2022, 9,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Malung-Sälen (-13.6 %), of which 8,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 850 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 21 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 670 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 14 percent from last year's May.

1,500 rooms (-13.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,100 rooms (-21.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 555,000 registered bed nights (+18.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 95,900 (+1,375.6 %) for foreigners in Malung-Sälen, in total 651,000 (+36.5 %) registered nights.

Total of 5.4 million registered bed nights (+64.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.4 million nights (+46.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 993,000 nights (+241.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Malung-Sälen out of total registered bed nights was 0.2 % (-0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

3,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 32 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 88.4 percent were domestic, and 11.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Malung-Sälen on average 2.7 nights (-1.3) and foreigners 2.0 nights (-0.48).
