Registered bed nights increased 13 percent

In September 2021, 33,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Malung-Sälen (+13.4 %), of which 32,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 11 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 147 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 13 percent from last year's September.

5,300 rooms (-2.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,600 rooms (+22.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 637,000 registered bed nights (+17.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 18,600 (-68.9 %) for foreigners in Malung-Sälen, in total 655,000 (+8.7 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.1 million registered bed nights (+30.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+24.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 723,000 nights (+65.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Malung-Sälen out of total registered bed nights was 0.8 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.0 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

12,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 21 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.0 percent were domestic, and 6.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Malung-Sälen on average 2.8 nights (-0.15) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-0.15).
