Registered bed nights increased 196 percent

In April 2021, 78,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Malung-Sälen (+195.6 %), of which 77,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 193 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 610 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 196 percent from last year's April.

13,600 rooms (+415.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,900 rooms (+224.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 460,000 registered bed nights (+12.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 6,400 (-89.0 %) for foreigners in Malung-Sälen, in total 466,000 (-0.3 %) registered nights.

Market share 3.1 percent

Total of 2.6 million registered bed nights (+102.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.3 million nights (+103.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 218,000 nights (+90.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Malung-Sälen out of total registered bed nights was 3.1 % (+1.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 3.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

17,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 159 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 98.8 percent were domestic, and 1.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Malung-Sälen on average 4.6 nights (+0.57) and foreigners 5.3 nights (-1.5).
