161,000 registered bed nights

In March 2019, 161,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Malung-Sälen (-15.3 %), of which 145,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 15,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 15 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 17 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 15 percent from last year's March.

7,800 rooms (-75.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 3,600 rooms (-37.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 425,000 registered bed nights (-9.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 64,900 (+0.9 %) for foreigners in Malung-Sälen, in total 490,000 (-8.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.5 million registered bed nights (-3.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.6 million nights (-1.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 888,000 nights (-12.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Malung-Sälen out of total registered bed nights was 3.6 % (-0.5 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 4.0 % and foreign bed nights 1.7 %.

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 143 percent compared to earlier year. In Malung-Sälen, length of stay in March was on average 11 nights and in Sweden 2.2 nights (-4.6 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Malung-Sälen on average 11 nights (+108.8 %) and foreigners 21 nights (+410.7 %).

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 65 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.8 percent were domestic, and 5.2 percent were from foreign countries.
