Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 27 percent

In June 2019, 30,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Malung-Sälen (+26.5 %), of which 27,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 28 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 15 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 27 percent from last year's June.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (1,200 nights).

2,100 rooms (+116.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,000 rooms (+5.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 572,000 registered bed nights (-4.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 73,800 (+6.9 %) for foreigners in Malung-Sälen, in total 646,000 (-3.2 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.4 percent

Total of 7.1 million registered bed nights (+7.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.0 million nights (+8.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.1 million nights (+5.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Malung-Sälen out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay increased six percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased six percent compared to earlier year. In Malung-Sälen, length of stay in June was on average 4.7 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (+4.2 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Malung-Sälen on average 5.1 nights (+77.7 %) and foreigners 2.4 nights (+238.4 %).

6,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 19 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 85.4 percent were domestic, and 14.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Malung-Sälen on average 5.1 nights (+0.25) and foreigners 2.4 nights (+0.12).
