Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 11 percent

In November 2019, 30,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Malung-Sälen (+10.7 %), of which 28,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 21 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 54 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 11 percent from last year's November.

2,200 rooms (+63.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,200 rooms (-41.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and November, 778,000 registered bed nights (+0.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 95,800 (+5.0 %) for foreigners in Malung-Sälen, in total 874,000 (+0.7 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.6 million registered bed nights (+3.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.9 million nights (+5.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 731,000 nights (-6.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Malung-Sälen out of total registered bed nights was 0.8 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.0 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay increased 22 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 22 percent compared to earlier year. In Malung-Sälen, length of stay in November was on average 5.6 nights and in Sweden 1.8 nights (+0.6 %).

During November, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Malung-Sälen on average 5.5 nights (+50.9 %) and foreigners 8.2 nights (+94.2 %).

5,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 10 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.1 percent were domestic, and 3.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During November, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Malung-Sälen on average 5.5 nights (+0.59) and foreigners 8.2 nights (+5.0).
