Registered bed nights increased 40 percent

In January 2022, 175,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Malung-Sälen (+39.5 %), of which 150,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 25,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 21 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 1,400 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 40 percent from last year's January.

8,500 rooms (+4.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 760 rooms (+94.6 %) by business visitors.

Total of 2.3 million registered bed nights (+4.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.9 million nights (-4.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 399,000 nights (+105.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Malung-Sälen out of total registered bed nights was 7.5 % (+1.9 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 7.7 % and foreign bed nights 6.3 %.

Length of stay increased 18 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 18 percent compared to earlier year. In Malung-Sälen, length of stay in January was on average 15 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (-36.1 %).

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Malung-Sälen on average 14 nights and foreigners 50 nights .

11,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 19 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.7 percent were domestic, and 4.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Malung-Sälen on average 14 nights (+0.64) and foreigners 50 nights (+40).
