2,700 registered bed nights

In December 2019, 2,700 bed nights were recorded in Mariestad (+0.4 %), of which 2,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 480 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased seven percent and foreign bed nights increased 67 percent. In total, bed nights increased less than one percent from last year's December.

1,200 rooms (+49.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 660 rooms (+12.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 106,000 bed nights (-2.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 22,700 (-1.4 %) for foreigners in Mariestad, in total 129,000 (-2.4 %) nights.

Total of 3.5 million bed nights (+0.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+1.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 764,000 nights (-2.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Mariestad out of total bed nights was 0.1 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

1,600 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 13 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 83.9 percent were domestic, and 16.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Mariestad on average 1.6 nights (-0.21) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-0.4).
