Registered bed nights increased 28 percent

In September 2021, 13,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Mariestad (+27.8 %), of which 11,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 15 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 155 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 28 percent from last year's September.

2,300 rooms (+49.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,100 rooms (-2.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 134,000 registered bed nights (+34.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 15,300 (+206.5 %) for foreigners in Mariestad, in total 150,000 (+42.7 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.1 million registered bed nights (+30.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+24.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 723,000 nights (+65.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Mariestad out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

7,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 22 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 82.0 percent were domestic, and 18.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Mariestad on average 1.8 nights (+0.12) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-0.41).
