2,900 registered bed nights

In March 2020, 2,900 bed nights were recorded in Mariestad (-34.9 %), of which 2,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 220 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 33 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 51 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 35 percent from last year's March.

710 rooms (-33.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 790 rooms (-27.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 8,800 bed nights (-12.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,000 (-15.2 %) for foreigners in Mariestad, in total 9,900 (-13.1 %) nights.

Total of 2.8 million bed nights (-37.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.4 million nights (-33.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 405,000 nights (-54.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Mariestad out of total bed nights was 0.1 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

1,600 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 37 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 90.0 percent were domestic, and 10.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Mariestad on average 1.9 nights (+0.16) and foreigners 1.4 nights (-0.9).
