Registered bed nights increased 129 percent

In April 2021, 5,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Mariestad (+128.9 %), of which 5,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 370 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 123 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 260 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 129 percent from last year's April.

690 rooms (+53.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,100 rooms (+88.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 14,000 registered bed nights (+26.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,200 (+5.2 %) for foreigners in Mariestad, in total 15,200 (+24.3 %) registered nights.

Total of 2.6 million registered bed nights (+102.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.3 million nights (+103.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 218,000 nights (+90.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Mariestad out of total registered bed nights was 0.2 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

2,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 115 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.2 percent were domestic, and 6.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Mariestad on average 2.1 nights (+0.11) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+0.55).
