Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 20 percent

In June 2019, 23,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Mariestad (+20.2 %), of which 20,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 29 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 16 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 20 percent from last year's June.

2,300 rooms (+10.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,100 rooms (+42.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 43,900 registered bed nights (-4.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 6,900 (-7.5 %) for foreigners in Mariestad, in total 50,800 (-5.1 %) registered nights.

Total of 7.1 million registered bed nights (+7.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.0 million nights (+8.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.1 million nights (+5.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Mariestad out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay increased four percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased four percent compared to earlier year. In Mariestad, length of stay in June was on average 5.7 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (+4.2 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Mariestad on average 5.9 nights (-12.8 %) and foreigners 4.8 nights (-14.2 %).

4,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 15 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 83.6 percent were domestic, and 16.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Mariestad on average 5.9 nights (+0.62) and foreigners 4.8 nights (-1.7).
