Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased four percent

In September 2019, 6,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Mariestad (+4.1 %), of which 5,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 950 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased two percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 19 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased four percent from last year's September.

1,500 rooms (+9.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,400 rooms (+17.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 96,500 registered bed nights (-3.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 21,100 (-3.9 %) for foreigners in Mariestad, in total 118,000 (-3.6 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.5 million registered bed nights (+2.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+3.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.2 million nights (-1.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Mariestad out of total registered bed nights was 0.1 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay was 2.2 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased five percent compared to earlier year. In Mariestad, length of stay in September was on average 2.2 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-1.3 %).

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Mariestad on average 2.1 nights (-11.0 %) and foreigners 3.3 nights (-4.3 %).

3,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 10 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 90.2 percent were domestic, and 9.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Mariestad on average 2.1 nights (-0.2) and foreigners 3.3 nights (+0.58).
