Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 14 percent

In November 2019, 3,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Mariestad (+13.8 %), of which 3,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 470 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 11 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 43 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 14 percent from last year's November.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (82 nights).

980 rooms (+28.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,300 rooms (+26.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and November, 104,000 registered bed nights (-2.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 22,200 (-2.3 %) for foreigners in Mariestad, in total 126,000 (-2.5 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.6 million registered bed nights (+3.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.9 million nights (+5.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 731,000 nights (-6.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Mariestad out of total registered bed nights was 0.1 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay was 2.0 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. In Mariestad, length of stay in November was on average 2.0 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-6.6 %).

During November, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Mariestad on average 1.9 nights (-10.8 %) and foreigners 2.5 nights (-2.1 %).

2,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 17 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 90.3 percent were domestic, and 9.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During November, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Mariestad on average 1.9 nights (-0.14) and foreigners 2.5 nights (+0.65).
