Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased six percent

In February 2020, 3,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Mariestad (+6.4 %), of which 3,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 470 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased four percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 25 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased six percent from last year's February.

1,000 rooms (+44.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 920 rooms (-7.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 6,200 registered bed nights (+0.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 820 (+5.4 %) for foreigners in Mariestad, in total 7,000 (+1.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.4 million registered bed nights (+3.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.5 million nights (+5.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 935,000 nights (-2.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Mariestad out of total registered bed nights was 0.1 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay was 2.0 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased eight percent compared to earlier year. In Mariestad, length of stay in February was on average 2.0 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (-3.1 %).

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Mariestad on average 2.1 nights (-12.3 %) and foreigners 1.5 nights (-13.3 %).

2,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 15 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 84.3 percent were domestic, and 15.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Mariestad on average 2.1 nights (-0.22) and foreigners 1.5 nights (+0.11).
