Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 35 percent

In August 2020, 19,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Mellerud (+35.2 %), of which 18,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 103 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 86 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 35 percent from last year's August.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (470 nights).

770 rooms (-37.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 129 rooms (-42.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 74,300 registered bed nights (+30.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,400 (-90.1 %) for foreigners in Mellerud, in total 76,700 (-6.2 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.3 percent

Total of 6.1 million registered bed nights (-31.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.4 million nights (-10.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 615,000 nights (-77.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Mellerud out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay was 3.0 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased four percent compared to earlier year. In Mellerud, length of stay in August was on average 3.0 nights and in Sweden 2.3 nights (+6.0 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Mellerud on average 3.1 nights (-0.4 %) and foreigners 2.2 nights (+10.8 %).

6,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 41 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.0 percent were domestic, and 5.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Mellerud on average 3.1 nights (-0.56) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-0.38).
