Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 26 percent

In May 2021, 9,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Mellerud (+26.4 %), of which 9,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 240 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 25 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 87 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 26 percent from last year's May.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (112 nights).

380 rooms (+147.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 700 rooms (+247.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 16,500 registered bed nights (+51.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 540 (-42.0 %) for foreigners in Mellerud, in total 17,000 (+44.1 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.3 million registered bed nights (+46.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.0 million nights (+45.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 291,000 nights (+65.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Mellerud out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay was 3.3 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 10 percent compared to earlier year. In Mellerud, length of stay in May was on average 3.3 nights and in Sweden 2.3 nights (-5.3 %).

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Mellerud on average 3.3 nights (+13.2 %) and foreigners 2.4 nights (-29.3 %).

2,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 40 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.4 percent were domestic, and 3.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Mellerud on average 3.3 nights (-0.32) and foreigners 2.4 nights (-1.2).
