6,100 registered bed nights

In June 2020, 6,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Meri-Lappi (-59.5 %), of which 5,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 390 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 48 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 90 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 59 percent from last year's June.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (156 nights).

3,400 nights (-59.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,700 nights (-59.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 29,300 registered bed nights (-35.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 18,000 (-39.7 %) for foreigners in Meri-Lappi, in total 47,300 (-37.0 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.5 percent

Total of 1.1 million registered bed nights (-50.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.1 million nights (-36.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 50,900 nights (-91.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Meri-Lappi out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.8 %.

3,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 67 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.1 percent were domestic, and 5.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Meri-Lappi on average 1.8 nights (+0.32) and foreigners 1.9 nights (+0.45).
