Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 79 percent

In April 2021, 11,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Midt-Telemark (+79.3 %), of which 11,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 230 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 76 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 7,500 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 79 percent from last year's April.

Between January and April, 24,200 registered bed nights (+10.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,100 (+30.2 %) for foreigners in Midt-Telemark, in total 25,300 (+10.8 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.3 percent

Total of 883,000 registered bed nights (+166.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 788,000 nights (+184.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 94,300 nights (+75.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Midt-Telemark out of total registered bed nights was 1.3 % (-0.6 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay was 3.2 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 27 percent compared to earlier year. In Midt-Telemark, length of stay in April was on average 3.2 nights and in Norway 2.8 nights (-3.0 %).

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Midt-Telemark on average 3.2 nights (-38.3 %) and foreigners 2.4 nights (+23.1 %).

3,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 146 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.3 percent were domestic, and 2.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Midt-Telemark on average 3.2 nights (-1.2) and foreigners 2.4 nights (+0.94).
