Registered bed nights increased three percent

In January 2022, 3,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Midt-Telemark (+2.8 %), of which 2,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 142 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased three percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased two percent. In total, registered bed nights increased three percent from last year's January.

970 nights (+347.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,500 nights (+271.0 %) by business visitors.

Total of 1.2 million registered bed nights (+51.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 888,000 nights (+35.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 292,000 nights (+132.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Midt-Telemark out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.0 %.

Length of stay was 5.6 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 20 percent compared to earlier year. In Midt-Telemark, length of stay in January was on average 5.6 nights and in Norway 2.3 nights (-17.7 %).

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Midt-Telemark on average 5.6 nights and foreigners 5.5 nights .

550 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 29 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.3 percent were domestic, and 4.7 percent were from foreign countries.
