53,800 bed nights in paid accommodation (June)
Total of 53,800 bed nights (-7.2 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Mikkeli Region in June 2022. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 61 % and non-registered 39 %.
Between January and June, the number of paid bed nights was 172,000 (-8.4 %). Share of registered was 54 % and non-registered 46 %.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded. Non-registered bed nights statistics include bed nights from AirBnB and Vrbo.
Registered bed nights increased three percent (June)
In June 2022, 33,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Mikkeli Region (+2.6 %), of which 30,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased two percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 210 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased three percent from last year's June.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (700 nights).
25,400 nights (-2.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 7,700 nights (+22.7 %) by business visitors.
Between January and June, 86,400 registered bed nights (+11.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 5,700 (+172.6 %) for foreigners in Mikkeli Region, in total 92,100 (+15.5 %) registered nights.

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.8 percent were domestic, and 6.2 percent were from foreign countries.
During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Mikkeli Region on average 1.9 nights (+0.1) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-2.0).

Trips by Russian travelers over the eastern border increased 145 percent
A total of 85,100 Russians arrived in Finland over the eastern border crossings.

Russian visa applications increased 330 percent (June)
There was a total of 12,000 visa applications to Finland made by the Russians. 81.5 percent were done at St. Petersburg's consulate.
Accommodation sales 2.4 million euro (June)
Total accommodation sales in June were 2.4 million euro (+102,000). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 29.0 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 1.7 million euro (+360,000) and non-registered sales 696,000 euro (-259,000).
Total January-June sales were 7.8 million euro and they increased 179,000 euro from the previous year.
