Registered bed nights increased 37 percent (January)
In January 2023, 10,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Mikkeli Region (+37.1 %), of which 9,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 560 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 34 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 123 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 37 percent from last year's January.
5,200 nights (+16.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 4,900 nights (+68.9 %) by business visitors.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

6,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation (January)
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 42 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.7 percent were domestic, and 3.3 percent were from foreign countries.
During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Mikkeli Region on average 1.5 nights (-0.07) and foreigners 2.6 nights (+0.11).
