30,500 bed nights in paid accommodation
Total of 30,500 bed nights (-12.0 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Mikkeli Region in October 2022. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 48 % and non-registered 52 %.
Between January and October, the number of paid bed nights was 371,000 (-10.4 %). Share of registered was 57 % and non-registered 43 %.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded. Non-registered bed nights statistics include bed nights from AirBnB and Vrbo.
14,800 registered bed nights
In October 2022, 14,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Mikkeli Region (-18.9 %), of which 13,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 960 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 19 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 11 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 19 percent from last year's October.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (174 nights).
7,700 nights (-35.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 7,100 nights (+13.8 %) by business visitors.
Between January and October, 188,000 registered bed nights (-4.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 23,500 (+44.7 %) for foreigners in Mikkeli Region, in total 212,000 (-1.1 %) registered nights.

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 19 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.5 percent were domestic, and 3.5 percent were from foreign countries.
During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Mikkeli Region on average 1.6 nights (+0.01) and foreigners 3.1 nights (-0.98).

30,600 Russian travelers via eastern border
A total of 30,600 Russians arrived in Finland over the eastern border crossings.

Russian visa applications increased 330 percent (June)
There was a total of 12,000 visa applications to Finland made by the Russians. 81.5 percent were done at St. Petersburg's consulate.
Accommodation sales 1.4 million euro
Total accommodation sales in October were 1.4 million euro (-102,000). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 40.4 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 813,000 euro (-96,500) and non-registered sales 552,000 euro (-5,400).
Total January-October sales were 16.0 million euro and they decreased 794,000 euro from the previous year.
