Registered bed nights increased 70 percent (March)
In March 2022, 11,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Mikkeli (+70.1 %), of which 10,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 680 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 67 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 151 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 70 percent from last year's March.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Latvia (175 nights).
5,700 nights (+93.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 5,900 nights (+52.5 %) by business visitors.
Between January and March, 24,300 registered bed nights (+21.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,300 (+66.3 %) for foreigners in Mikkeli, in total 25,600 (+22.9 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 112 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.8 percent were domestic, and 3.2 percent were from foreign countries.
During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Mikkeli on average 1.5 nights (-0.37) and foreigners 2.9 nights (-3.0).

A total of 31,300 Russians arrived in Finland over the eastern border crossings.
The share of southeastern border stations was 75.5 percent.
