In October 2018, 13,000 bed nights were recorded in Mikkeli (-4.2 %), of which 10,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,300 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased nine percent and foreign bed nights increased 26 percent. In total, bed nights decreased four percent from last year's October.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Russia (710 nights).

6,500 nights (+5.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 6,500 nights (-11.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and October, 142,000 bed nights (-9.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 40,000 (-4.7 %) for foreigners in Mikkeli, in total 182,000 (-8.2 %) nights.

Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

A total of 241,000 Russians arrived in Finland over the eastern border crossings.

The share of southeastern border stations was 90.3 percent.

Accommodation sales 660,000 euro

Registered accommodation sales in October were 660,000 euro (-15,400).

Registered January-October sales were 8.4 million euro and they decreased 1.1 million euro from the previous year.

Average prices
