Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 29 percent

In March 2021, 7,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Mölndal (+28.5 %), of which 6,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 340 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 36 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 38 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 29 percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (53 nights).

2,500 rooms (+51.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,800 rooms (-2.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 15,800 registered bed nights (-35.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 740 (-84.3 %) for foreigners in Mölndal, in total 16,600 (-43.6 %) registered nights.

Total of 2.9 million registered bed nights (+2.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+11.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 218,000 nights (-46.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Mölndal out of total registered bed nights was 0.2 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay increased eight percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased eight percent compared to earlier year. In Mölndal, length of stay in March was on average 1.6 nights and in Sweden 3.2 nights (+21.8 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Mölndal on average 1.6 nights (+9.6 %) and foreigners 2.5 nights (+12.2 %).

4,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 19 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.8 percent were domestic, and 3.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Mölndal on average 1.6 nights (+0.12) and foreigners 2.5 nights (+0.75).
