Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 12 percent

In August 2019, 51,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Mora (+12.5 %), of which 40,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 10,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 17 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased two percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 12 percent from last year's August.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (3,500 nights).

6,400 rooms (+35.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,700 rooms (+43.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 212,000 registered bed nights (+8.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 57,100 (+7.3 %) for foreigners in Mora, in total 269,000 (+7.8 %) registered nights.

Total of 8.9 million registered bed nights (+3.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 6.1 million nights (+4.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.8 million nights (+3.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Mora out of total registered bed nights was 0.6 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.7 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

Length of stay was 2.2 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased two percent compared to earlier year. In Mora, length of stay in August was on average 2.2 nights and in Sweden 2.2 nights (+0.4 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Mora on average 2.3 nights (-1.6 %) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-3.8 %).

23,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 14 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 77.6 percent were domestic, and 22.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Mora on average 2.3 nights (-0.02) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-0.1).
