Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 14 percent

In February 2023, 3,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Motala (+14.0 %), of which 3,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 196 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 16 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 11 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 14 percent from last year's February.

770 rooms (+7.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,200 rooms (+33.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 5,900 registered bed nights (+24.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 300 (-26.4 %) for foreigners in Motala, in total 6,200 (+20.5 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.5 million registered bed nights (+20.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.8 million nights (+17.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 756,000 nights (+32.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Motala out of total registered bed nights was 0.1 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.0 %.

Length of stay increased 14 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 14 percent compared to earlier year. In Motala, length of stay in February was on average 2.1 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-5.0 %).

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Motala on average 2.1 nights (+11.2 %) and foreigners 2.3 nights (+16.3 %).

1,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased less than one percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.7 percent were domestic, and 5.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Motala on average 2.1 nights (+0.23) and foreigners 2.3 nights (+0.61).
