Registered bed nights increased nine percent

In October 2019, 5,000 bed nights were recorded in Motala (+9.0 %), of which 4,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 390 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 14 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 27 percent. In total, bed nights increased nine percent from last year's October.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from United Kingdom (64 nights).

910 rooms (+70.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,000 rooms (-6.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and October, 94,200 bed nights (+29.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 17,700 (+19.6 %) for foreigners in Motala, in total 112,000 (+27.7 %) nights.

Total of 4.1 million bed nights (+3.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.1 million nights (+5.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 936,000 nights (-2.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Motala out of total bed nights was 0.1 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.0 %.

2,400 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased seven percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 93.4 percent were domestic, and 6.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Motala on average 2.0 nights (+0.1) and foreigners 2.4 nights (-0.6).
