Registered bed nights increased three percent

In September 2020, 6,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Motala (+3.5 %), of which 5,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased five percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased six percent. In total, registered bed nights increased three percent from last year's September.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Poland (260 nights).

1,300 rooms (+9.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,800 rooms (+0.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 82,300 registered bed nights (-8.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 4,600 (-73.8 %) for foreigners in Motala, in total 86,800 (-18.8 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.2 percent

Total of 3.1 million registered bed nights (-30.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (-19.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 441,000 nights (-61.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Motala out of total registered bed nights was 0.2 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

3,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased three percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 91.6 percent were domestic, and 8.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Motala on average 1.8 nights (0.0) and foreigners 3.1 nights (+0.3).
