Registered bed nights increased 24 percent

In December 2019, 2,900 bed nights were recorded in Motala (+23.9 %), of which 2,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 220 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 32 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 28 percent. In total, bed nights increased 24 percent from last year's December.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (50 nights).

480 rooms (+18.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,100 rooms (+6.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 101,000 bed nights (+29.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 18,300 (+15.9 %) for foreigners in Motala, in total 119,000 (+27.2 %) nights.

Market share 0.1 percent

Total of 3.5 million bed nights (+0.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+1.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 764,000 nights (-2.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Motala out of total bed nights was 0.1 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.0 %.

1,300 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 16 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 93.6 percent were domestic, and 6.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Motala on average 2.2 nights (+0.17) and foreigners 2.6 nights (+0.03).
