Registered bed nights increased 23 percent

In June 2019, 21,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Motala (+23.2 %), of which 17,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 24 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 21 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 23 percent from last year's June.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (1,700 nights).

2,600 rooms (+64.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,700 rooms (-14.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 37,300 registered bed nights (+26.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 7,200 (+27.6 %) for foreigners in Motala, in total 44,600 (+26.5 %) registered nights.

Total of 7.1 million registered bed nights (+7.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.0 million nights (+8.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.1 million nights (+5.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Motala out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

9,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased one percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 81.1 percent were domestic, and 18.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Motala on average 2.3 nights (+0.47) and foreigners 2.3 nights (+0.04).
