Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased seven percent

In September 2019, 6,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Motala (+6.5 %), of which 5,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 960 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased three percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 32 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased seven percent from last year's September.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Poland (220 nights).

910 rooms (+26.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,500 rooms (-27.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 89,500 registered bed nights (+30.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 17,400 (+21.3 %) for foreigners in Motala, in total 107,000 (+28.7 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.5 million registered bed nights (+2.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+3.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.2 million nights (-1.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Motala out of total registered bed nights was 0.1 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay was 2.5 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased eight percent compared to earlier year. In Motala, length of stay in September was on average 2.5 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-1.3 %).

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Motala on average 2.3 nights (+5.2 %) and foreigners 3.4 nights (-10.8 %).

2,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 16 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 89.1 percent were domestic, and 10.9 percent were from foreign countries.
