Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 27 percent

In February 2020, 3,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Motala (+27.1 %), of which 3,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 350 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 36 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 17 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 27 percent from last year's February.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (108 nights).

430 rooms (+18.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,100 rooms (+25.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 6,000 registered bed nights (+30.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 630 (-29.9 %) for foreigners in Motala, in total 6,700 (+20.6 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.4 million registered bed nights (+3.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.5 million nights (+5.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 935,000 nights (-2.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Motala out of total registered bed nights was 0.1 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.0 %.

Length of stay was 2.6 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased nine percent compared to earlier year. In Motala, length of stay in February was on average 2.6 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (-3.1 %).

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Motala on average 2.5 nights (-1.0 %) and foreigners 3.9 nights (+6.6 %).

1,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 40 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.9 percent were domestic, and 7.1 percent were from foreign countries.
