Paid bed nights

5,900 registered bed nights

In May 2020, 5,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Nord-Troms Region (-31.2 %), of which 5,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 240 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 10 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 93 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 31 percent from last year's May.

2,000 nights (-44.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 420 nights (-10.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 12,200 registered bed nights (-34.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 7,800 (-60.1 %) for foreigners in Nord-Troms Region, in total 20,000 (-47.5 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.0 million registered bed nights (-62.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 959,000 nights (-51.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 70,600 nights (-90.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Nord-Troms Region out of total registered bed nights was 0.6 % (+0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

Length of stay increased 37 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 37 percent compared to earlier year. In Nord-Troms Region, length of stay in May was on average 3.8 nights and in Norway 2.7 nights (+46.1 %).

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Nord-Troms Region on average 3.8 nights (+25.8 %) and foreigners 3.0 nights (-18.5 %).

1,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 50 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.8 percent were domestic, and 5.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Nord-Troms Region on average 3.8 nights (+1.0) and foreigners 3.0 nights (+0.35).
