Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 48 percent

In March 2022, 14,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Nordfjord (+48.0 %), of which 14,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 310 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 46 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 220 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 48 percent from last year's March.

4,700 nights (+48.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,100 nights (+60.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 28,400 registered bed nights (+27.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 800 (+82.0 %) for foreigners in Nordfjord, in total 29,200 (+28.8 %) registered nights.

Total of 2.3 million registered bed nights (+142.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.8 million nights (+110.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 507,000 nights (+443.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Nordfjord out of total registered bed nights was 0.6 % (-0.4 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.8 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay was 2.2 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 13 percent compared to earlier year. In Nordfjord, length of stay in March was on average 2.2 nights and in Norway 2.1 nights (-23.5 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Nordfjord on average 2.2 nights (-10.5 %) and foreigners 1.7 nights (-28.7 %).

6,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 70 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.2 percent were domestic, and 2.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Nordfjord on average 2.2 nights (-0.35) and foreigners 1.7 nights (+0.46).
