Registered bed nights increased 84 percent (May)

In May 2021, 87,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Nordland (+84.3 %), of which 83,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 84 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 83 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 84 percent from last year's May.

26,000 nights (+188.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 24,100 nights (+35.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 267,000 registered bed nights (+13.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 17,100 (-76.0 %) for foreigners in Nordland, in total 284,000 (-7.4 %) registered nights.

43,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation (May)

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 89 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.6 percent were domestic, and 2.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Nordland on average 2.0 nights (-0.07) and foreigners 3.5 nights (+0.77).

Registered January-May sales were 144.2 million crowns and they decreased 25.3 million euro from the previous year.
