Registered bed nights increased 12 percent

In May 2022, 40,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Norrtälje (+12.2 %), of which 37,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased eight percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 240 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 12 percent from last year's May.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (450 nights).

6,500 rooms (+9.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 6,400 rooms (+142.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 122,000 registered bed nights (+11.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 4,600 (+96.3 %) for foreigners in Norrtälje, in total 127,000 (+12.7 %) registered nights.

Total of 5.4 million registered bed nights (+64.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.4 million nights (+46.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 993,000 nights (+241.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Norrtälje out of total registered bed nights was 0.7 % (-0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.9 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

24,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 32 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.2 percent were domestic, and 4.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Norrtälje on average 1.7 nights (-0.3) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-0.64).
