Registered bed nights increased 11 percent

In June 2020, 46,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Norrtälje (+10.8 %), of which 45,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 21 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 71 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 11 percent from last year's June.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United Kingdom (640 nights).

4,800 rooms (-22.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 4,300 rooms (+19.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 132,000 registered bed nights (-4.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,600 (-53.1 %) for foreigners in Norrtälje, in total 135,000 (-6.8 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.7 million registered bed nights (-48.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (-32.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 257,000 nights (-87.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Norrtälje out of total registered bed nights was 1.3 % (+0.7 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

21,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased one percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.1 percent were domestic, and 2.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Norrtälje on average 2.2 nights (+0.22) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+0.28).
