Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 16 percent

In March 2019, 16,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Norrtälje (+15.5 %), of which 15,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 820 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 15 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 38 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 16 percent from last year's March.

2,800 rooms (+109.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,600 rooms (+11.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 47,500 registered bed nights (+42.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,400 (-6.4 %) for foreigners in Norrtälje, in total 48,900 (+39.9 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.5 million registered bed nights (-3.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.6 million nights (-1.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 888,000 nights (-12.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Norrtälje out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay was 2.1 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 22 percent compared to earlier year. In Norrtälje, length of stay in March was on average 2.1 nights and in Sweden 2.2 nights (-4.6 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Norrtälje on average 2.0 nights (-18.1 %) and foreigners 2.2 nights (+16.5 %).

8,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 48 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.5 percent were domestic, and 4.5 percent were from foreign countries.
