Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 22 percent

In August 2021, 64,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Norrtälje (+22.2 %), of which 56,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 7,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 12 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 280 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 22 percent from last year's August.

8,400 rooms (+13.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 4,600 rooms (+36.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 279,000 registered bed nights (+12.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 14,400 (+85.4 %) for foreigners in Norrtälje, in total 293,000 (+14.7 %) registered nights.

Total of 8.4 million registered bed nights (+39.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 6.8 million nights (+25.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.6 million nights (+160.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Norrtälje out of total registered bed nights was 0.8 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.8 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

Length of stay was 2.1 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased one percent compared to earlier year. In Norrtälje, length of stay in August was on average 2.1 nights and in Sweden 2.2 nights (-3.6 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Norrtälje on average 2.1 nights (-3.0 %) and foreigners 2.7 nights (+31.8 %).

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 24 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 90.3 percent were domestic, and 9.7 percent were from foreign countries.
